Our Programs
IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC CURRICULUM, CHILDREN ENROLLED AT ASPIRATION ACADEMY
CAN PARTICIPATE IN SPECIAL GROUPS TO ENHANCE THEIR LEARNING EXPERIENCE
A group for reading: (e.g. The Reading Society)
Coaches read parts of books to students and then have the students read to the rest of the class or an individual coach.
Each student gets books of their own.
A group for individual pride: (e.g. The Pride Society)
Each background of students is talked about in positive terms.
Guest speakers from different religions and/or ethnic groups emphasize the children's religious and/or ethnic groups.
A group for Black and Hispanic history: (e.g. The History Society)
Coaches relate the "story" of prominent Blacks and Hispanics in America.
Local Black and Hispanic community leaders relate their "story" and ultimate success.
A group for patriotism and history of the United States: (e.g. The Patriotism Society)
Books and coaches show the importance and influence of Blacks and Hispanics in America's history.
America's history is reflected in books and courses adopted for young children.
A group for dreaming: (e.g. The Dream Society)
Each student tells of their dreams for the future with the group providing commentary, insights, support, and suggestions.
Follow-up support is provided by coaches and/or volunteers to assist in the dreams of each student.
Reading and math is emphasized as being necessary to fulfill most dreams.
A group for volunteering: (e.g. The Helping Hand Society)
Age-appropriate projects continue to be developed so that students will find joy in being able to help others.
